My Favorite Quote…

You know how when you read a book there’s always that quote you never forget, even if you forgot some character’s name? Maybe it’s a cheesy romantic expression of love, or maybe it’s some kind of confession of the truth, or that moving acknowledgement of bravery… but no matter which one is your favorite, in every book there’s a quote that’ll stick with you and will pop up unexpectedly into your head for years to come.

After all this time...

By the one and only Severus Snape in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows…

As a person’s patronus may change when they suffered a strong emotional trauma, the silver doe in Snape’s patronus represents Lily Evans: the girl Snape loved more than anything else in the world, the one for whom he changed sides and risked his life working for Dumbledore, the one who never requited his love but he loved nonetheless.

To me, this quote represents the most pure love expression of all!

At Dumbledore’s question he gave such an honest reply that showed his undying love for Lily. He loved her immensely and this love made him protect Harry, the son of his nemesis… That is true love! Mind blowing love! To me the passage is so traumatizing that my heart just broke into a thousand pieces and let’s not even mention the movie because it made me cry my eyes out!!

This one word explains why he spent the whole series creating trouble for Harry as well as saving him under water. It’s evident that he has loved her since childhood but after his awful decision making skills she withdrew from him.

This is how all of us wish to be loved; how we all should love!

What do you think of this quote my fellow bookworms? What is your number one book quote? Let me know in the comments.
